What information is being collected?

  • Staff names for user account creation and student demographic information for library resource lending purposes. 

Who is it being shared with?

  • Insignia user accounts are stored and accessed through servers in Canada.  

  • District IT support staff assisting in the maintenance and support of staff Insignia accounts and product use. 

  • Insignia support staff may access account data to provide customer service to staff requiring support.  

For what purpose?

  • Insignia is a library software that supports cataloguing and circulation of school library resources for staff and students. 

  • Insignia keeps track of all resources that a student or staff member has on loan.  


What else do I need to know?

  • Insignia is a condition of service for Central Okanagan Public Schools as it supports an essential school operation. 

  • Insignia collects, stores, processes and shares student personal information only for the purposes of providing the service.

  • Insignia does not own the content or data collected from a district, school board, school, teacher, parent or student.

  • Insignia does not sell, use or share personal information or content for marketing or advertising purposes.

  • Insignia does not use student data for targeted advertising purposes.
