• Student name (or pseudonym), grade and school are used in creating Weebly accounts

Who is it being shared with?

• Weebly user accounts are stored and accessed through servers outside of Canada.  

• District IT support staff assisting in the maintenance and support of staff and/or student Weebly accounts. 

• Weebly support staff may access account data to provide customer service to staff requiring support.

For what purpose?

• Weebly allows educators to create and manage password protected digital portfolio websites with their students. 

• Provide a platform for students to create their own personalized sites using easy website building blocks to showcase projects and presentations.

• Web design provides students with valuable digital skills as well as their core competencies (i.e. creative thinking, critical thinking, communication, etc.).

 

What else do I need to know?

• Weebly collects, stores, processes and shares student personal information only for the purposes of providing the service.

• Weebly does not own the content or data collected from a district, school board, school, teacher, parent or student.

• Weebly does not sell, use or share personal information or content for marketing or advertising purposes.

• Weebly does not use student data for targeted advertising purposes.
